Altafulla is a Mediterranean town with medieval roots, and it lies just ten minutes from Tarragona and one hour from Barcelona. Its location on the main Mediterranean thoroughfare (the former Augustan Way of the Romans) makes it an inevitable passing point for people heading to the southern Spanish coast and those wishing to go further inland towards the centre of the Iberian Peninsula.
